Dr. Barnes performs surgery at facilities in Savannah and Richmond Hill.
Dr. Barnes offers a variety of robotic surgeries, including hiatal hernia repair, paraesophageal repair, anti-reflux procedures, ventral and inguinal hernia repair, abdominal wall reconstruction, cholecystectomy, and hemicolectomy. In some instances, robotic surgery can be used as an alternative to open surgery or laparoscopic surgery. Contact our office for more information or to schedule a consultation today.
Robotic surgery is performed in a hospital or surgical center under general anesthesia. During the procedure, the patient lies on a table beneath the robotic device. In the same operating room, Dr. Barnes will use the da Vinci surgery system to perform surgery through very small incisions. During the surgery, a camera will transmit live three-dimensional imaging that can be magnified as needed.
Robotic-assisted operations generally require less time in the hospital after surgery, not to mention a much shorter recovery period and lower risk of complications. Talk with Dr. Barnes about whether robotic surgery is right for you.
